But even our most advanced radio-telescopes are not able to see the black holes directly. The reason for that is two-fold. Firstly, the distance plays a key role. Black holes are not as common as planets or asteroids and therefore are, for the most part, quite far away. The second reason, and more importantly, is that black holes don’t give out any light which makes them incredibly hard to detect.
